The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that make it difficult to acquire Japanese relative self-other verbs pointed out in previous studies. Previous studies pointed out that Korean verbs corresponding to Japanese relative self-indulgent verbs are closely related to the meaning of passive and causative verbs, and misuse occurs because Korean learners do not grasp the morphological and semantic characteristics of Korean verbs. Taking this point into consideration, this survey examined the effects of Korean native language interference by having Korean learners perform a task of describing Japanese relative to other verbs using picture cards. According to the survey, if there is a Korean verb that corresponds one-on-one to Japanese relative autonomous verbs, learners often misuse them, regardless of the interference of their native language. In addition, it was found that there are difficulties in learning due to ambiguity of pictures and example sentences used in textbooks rather than the morphological characteristics of the corresponding Korean verbs. Based on these points, we discussed points of consideration in instruction and improvements in teaching materials.
