청동기시대 前ㆍ中期 分期와 社會經濟的 變化에 대한 이해

국문 초록 (Abstract)

시기구분은 사실상 해당 시기들 사이의 사회경제적 차이에 대한 이해를 망라한다. 우리 청동기시대 전기와 중기의 구분도 예외일 수는 없다. 그러나 유물의 형태나 (수)량의 변이로부터 확보되는 고고학의 시간성과 사회경제적 변화가 일치할 수만은 없다는 사실이 종종 편년작업을 진퇴유곡의 상황에 빠뜨리기도 한다. 사회경제적 변화에 초점을 맞춰 기존 분기의 결함을 극복하려는 시도에는 그런 곤란한 상황이 반영된 듯하다. 본고는 그러한 곤란을 유발시킨 우리 연구관행의 문제, 사회경제적 변화에 초점을 맞춰 분기를 조 정하려는 최근의 시도가 배태할 문제 등을 지적한다. 아울러, 그간 축적된 청동기시대 전-중기 전이 과정의 변화에 대한 이해를 생산적인 후속연구로 이어갈 방안을 모색해본다. 그러한 모색의 일환으로 청동기시대 전-중기 전이과정에서 발생한 여러 방면의 변화가 지역적으로 얼마나 상이하게 나타났는지를 비교하고 있다. 이러한 작업은 한국 청동기시대 사회경제적 변화에 대한 이론적 탐색의 기초를 마련할 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Periodization actually comprehends understandings on the socioeconomic differences of relevant (sub)periods. Delineating between Early and Middle Korean Bronze Ages cannot be exceptional. Discordance between archaeological temporality drawn from variation in form and quantity of specific artifacts and socioeconomic changes leads some dilemma in chronology. Attempts to make up for weak point of current chronological scheme of Bronze Age seems to represent the dilemmatic situation. This paper looks at what is attributable to the weakness, and how problematic the attempts is. In addition, the ways how the data accumulated so far can be productively used for future research are explored. As a part of the explorations, the regions of South Korea are compared in terms of differing patterns of the socioeconomic changes in transition from Early to Middle Bronze Ages. This would provide the empirical foundation in theorizing the socioeconomic development during the Korean Bronze Age.
