자전거 안내사인의 체계와 디자인방향 제시를 위한 연구 = A study on the system of bike sign and its design guideline

As the interest in eco-friendly environment and promoting health is increasing, the necessity of utilizing bicycle is getting emphasized. However, even though the number of bicycle users has been steadily increasing, its infrastructure and safety facilities are still very poor. In order to reduce bicycle accident and promote the usage of bicycle, it is necessary to establish a sign system in consideration of the characteristics of bike itself regarding the traffic sign, facility, and pathway. This study intended to develop design for systematic signs of traffic and facilities to improve the convenience and safety of bike users. Accordingly, the current circumstance of traffic signs and facilities for bike was investigated. The excellent domestic and overseas examples of the traffic signs were also surveyed and analyzed. In addition, the existing regulations related to the traffic signs were reviewed and legal issues for bike sign were brought up. Ultimately, this study proposed a bike sign system and guideline of designing systematic bike signs to promote user`s safety and usage.
