본 연구는 기생초 꽃을 이용한 새로운 천연 항산화제 개발을 위하여 시행하였다. 기생초 꽃의 조추출물을 n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-butanol 및 물로 용매별 순차분획하였다. 순차별 분획물의 가용성 고형분 함량은 n-butanol 분획물에서 가장 우수하였다. 총 폴리페놀 및 플라보노이드의 함량은 ethyl acetate 분획물에서 가장 우수하였으며, 건조시료 1g당 각 643.67, 318.47㎍ · g?¹의 함량을 나타냈다. DPPH 및 ABTS 라디칼 소거능은 ethyl acetate 분획물에서 가장 우수하였으며, 각각의 RC??은 0.063㎎ · mL?¹ and 0.072 ㎎ · mL?¹으로 나타나 BHT보다 효과적이며 ascorbic acid와 유사한 소거능을 보였다. 그 다음으로는 n-butanol 분획물의 DPPH 및 ABTS 라디칼 소거능이 우수하였으며, RC??은 각 0.101, 0.109㎎ · mL?¹이었다. 따라서 기생초 꽃은 매우 우수한 항산화 활성을 가지고 있으므로 천연 항산화제로써 개발 가능성이 높은 것으로 생각되었다.

The objective of this study was to examine the possibility of using Coreopsis tinctoria flowers as a new natural antioxidant. Flowers of C. tinctoria were solvent fractioned stepwise with n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-butanol and water. In n-butanol fraction, soluble solid yield was the highest. Ethyl acetate fraction showed the highest contents of total polyphenol and total flavonoid whose RC?? was 643.67 ㎍ · g?¹ and 318.47 ㎍ · g?¹, respectively. The most effective DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities were shown in ethyl acetate fraction whose RC?? was 0.063 ㎎ · mL?¹ and 0.072 ㎎ · mL?¹, being even more effective than BHT and similar to ascorbic acid. Next was n-butanol with high DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities whose RC?? was 0.101 ㎎ · mL?¹ and 0.109 ㎎ · mL?¹, respectively. In conclusion, it was confirmed that flowers of C. tinctoria have high antioxidant effect and thus have high potential as good sources of natural antioxidants.
