This study reexamined the gradual changes of sangharama of Seongjusa temple site in Seongju-myeon, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do and researched the construction time, reason of disposal and archaeological character of sangharama of each period, which was intended to spotlight the study of Seongjusa temple site again which was stagnant so far. The Seongjusa temple state is head temple of Seongju toran which is one of the nine torans of Zen sect in the latter part of unified Silla dynasty and it is constructed by staying of Nanghye Hwasang Moo-yum(郎慧和尙 無染). This Seongjusa temple state stayed for about 1000 years and it is told that about 1000 rooms were in the temple state at most. 2000 monks lived and practiced in the Seongjusa temple state and it was one of the best temples of the time. This Seongju temple state was researched for 12 times and it is being progressed since now. As the research of center of sangharama is completed, the approximate arrangement status of sangharama is announced, which can be summarized in 5 changes of sanaharama. However, from the results of excavation for whole regions of the temple state so far, the Seongjusa state sangharama can be known to be changed for three phases. Summarizing it, the phase Ⅰ is construction period of foregoing sangharama, which is estimated to be established by In Moon Kim family in the late 7C and destroyed with rebellion of Hun Chang Kim. The phase Ⅱis sangharama in the construction period of Sungju temple, which was constructed by staying of Nanghye Hwasang Moo-yum(郎慧和尙 無染) in the early Daejung(A.D. 847~859), and it seems to be damaged once between the later half of 13C, and the reason of damage is estimated to be the invasion of Mongolia. The phase Ⅲ is sangharama of reconstruction of Sungju temple which is estimated to be constructed under the economic base of strong forces in the whole Boryung region in the late 13C. But this Seongju temple seems to have declined by Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and be destroyed perfectly in early 17C.
