閔翁傳 硏究 = A Study of Min-Ong Chun(閔翁傳)

Min-Ong Chun (life story)-the story of Min-Ong who is a humorist,
satirist and hsa string tongue-is a work of Yun-am (燕岩). In this
thesis, Min-Ong Chun was analyzed laying stress on the structural
side of work, the personality and constitution of characters, the me-
aning of narrative structure, and the consciousness of writer.
The structure of Min-Ong Chun is divided into four parts, the
introductory part, the development part, the conclusion (denouement)
part, and the historical repute(史評 ; 誅時). In the constitution of
characters, Min-Ong, I(Yun-am himself), Min-Ong's wife, arguing
guest, and attendant person were examined by their charater and
role in the work. And the consciousness of write was investigated
through an implied meaning and thought in the event classfied by.
Yun-am attempted to rouse the contradiction in the social structure
and ruling class of the day, which were indulged in highbrow and
ideological thought, through the quick-witted person, Min-Ong.
Saying in addition, Yun-am expanded his rational and utilitarian
manner by this work and established the base for realism.
