이수광의 杜詩 註釋에 대한 評析 : 肯定的인 側面에서 = Evaluation and Analysis on Lee, Su-Kwang's Annotation of Du, Fu's Poems-A Positive Perspective

This paper studies the "Poetic(文章部)" of Ji-bong-yu-seul(芝峯類說) written by Lee, Su-Kwang(1563-1629), the renowed scholar of the yI Dynasty. Consisting of 20 volumes, Ji-bong-yu-seul is a sort of encylopedia. It covers a variety of issues from the astronomical to the insect in 25 parts.
Coming of a noble family, Lee was gifted by nature and erudite. Through his 3 visit to Peking, Lee experienced and studied various aspect of foreign civilization and atttempted to introduce them to his own country. He was also a man of literary talent. Not only he wrote more than 500 Chinese poems but also had its own theory of poety. This theory was recordedd in the "Poetic", that is, in the volumes 8 to 14 of Ji-bong-yu-seul.
The kernel of Lee's theory was "to respect the poetry of Tang Dynasty and to reject the poetry of Song Dynasty." As expected, therefore, Lee showed a great interest in Du, Fu's poems. Among the 1,300 articles of the "Poetics", 135 articles were about Du, Fu. Of these 135 articles, annotations on Du, Fu's poems are the 135 articles about Du, Fu. Lee insisted that, to regardless ramppant social evils, people must aim at a concrete study based on through research rather than an empty, nonsensical academic study. This belief motivated Lee to write Ji-bong-yu-seul. Annotation itself is significant as a groundwork in studying foreign literature. Lee's annotations are also important in that they were closely related to his motive of writing Ji-bong-yu-seul.
If we read Lee, Su-Kwang's annotation materials closely, we can see not only supreme taste in his literary perpective but also various problems in them. By Studying Lee's materials, this paper attempts to analyse and examine a part f the materials which can be positively re-evaluated.
