고령화 국가에 대한 기대수명 증가의 연령별 사망률 개선과 기여도 비교 연구 = A Comparative Study on age-specific mortality declined rate and contributions to the increase in life expectancy for aging country

국문 초록 (Abstract)

고령화는 세계적 추세이며, 그 결과로 인구구조 변화와 다양한 사회적 문제를 유발한다. 고령화 속도가 빠른 국가는 사망률 교대현상(mortality with rotation, 젊은 층의 사망률 개선은 예전과 다르게 점점 낮아지는 반면 고령층은 점진적으로 증가)과 연령별 사망률 개선에 차이를 보이고, 그 결과 기대수명 증가에 따른 연령별 기여도(Age-specific contributions to the Increase in Life expectancy)가 다르게 나타난다. 본 연구는 여러 고령화국가를 선정해 사망률 개선과 기여도를 비교해 본다. 이를 위해 먼저 아시아 3개국(한국, 중국, 일본), 유럽 2개국(영국, 프랑스), 미국, 총 6개국을 선정해, HMD, UNPD의 WPPs 2019 Prospects, 한국의 KOSIS에서 자료를 수집한 후, 사망률 개선과 기여도를 시각적으로 표현가능한 R 프로그램의 ROMI.PLOT을 나타내어 비교한다. 연구결과 타국가와 비교해 상대적으로 빠른 고령화를 보이는 한국과 중국은 80세 이상을 제외하고 전 연령에 걸쳐 빠른 사망률 개선과 특정 코호트별 사망률 개선을 보여주고, 6개국 모두 기대수명 증가에 따른 50대후반~80대후반의 높은 기여도를 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다.

Aging is a global trend, resulting in demographic changes and various social problems. In countries with a rapid aging rate, there is a difference in the mortality with rotation (the mortality rate of young people gradually decreases, while the elderly gradually increases) and the improvement of age-specific mortality rate and as a result, age-specific contributions to the incresae in life expectancy are different.
The study selects several aging countries and compares their mortality declined rate and contributions to the improvement of mortality.
To analyze, first, three Asian countries (Korea, China, Japan), two European countries (UK, France), and the U.S. will select six countries to collect data from the HMD, UNPD's WPD's WPPs 2019 Prospects, and Korea's KOSIS, and compare them on mortality declined and contributions by visually expressing the ROMI.PLOT of the R program.
The results show that Korea and China, which are relatively aging compared to other countries, show rapid mortality declined rate and cohort mortality improvement across all ages, except for those aged 80 and older, while it is analyzed that the improvement of mortality among all six countries in their late 50s and late 80s has contributed relatively high to the increase in life expectancy.
