The purpose of this study is to apply the study in Korean education by analyzing conversation among migrant workers in Korea.
In this study, how to take place and allocate turn taking is studied based on transcribed materials of the discussion of migrant workers. Furthermore, the aspect of occurrence of turn taking is also studied. In the study, some notable features of obstructing smooth proceeding is shown - interrupting discourse, reacting only as audience, failure in using proper words by the person who is taking, for example. Besides, mutual effort to make a smooth discourse is also shown, which is considered that migrant workers intend to understand their insufficient skill of Korean speaking and make up for each other. It is another outstanding feature that migrant workers perform a long speech in one turn, and each has few turn taking compared with clause.
