This study analyzed the distribution characteristics of fine particulate matter at major points in the outer space of an apartment complex along the Han River in Seoul during the four seasons. Using the special building zone system, the external space of the apartment complex, where various external spaces are designed, was stylized and the results were compared and analyzed along with AWS data from the Korea Meteorological Administration.
In spring, the wind was mostly in the south and the wind was in the north, showing a completely different pattern. The points adjacent to Olympic Boulevard and roads were high in fine particulate matter levels, and green areas and open spaces are believed to have a great effect on reducing fine particulate matter. The area of the adjacent walkway or the location within the complex varies with the wind direction without significant impact.
