In a series of articles, Kioasky proposed, defended and modified the theory of Lexical Phonology. His chief concern has been the convergence of several originally advocated theories, such as Blocking, Strict Cycle Condition, etc.
The purpose of this paper is to trace the development of his theory by comparing his proposals and revisions. Main emphasis will be laid on the comparison between Kiparsky (1982a) and Kiparsky(1982c) in terms with the number of strata and the level assigned for the noun-verb conversion.
As a result of comparing his articles, it will be shown that neither of them properly include the other.
