      Traditionally, visual art has been part of fine arts and industrial arts has been practically harmonized with our life as the second position in aesthetic value system. A turning point in contemporary art was emergence of collage. The collage was a chance that brought a great change to representational materials beyond a conventional method of using only hands.
      This study examines the concept and history of collage in the history of contemporary art, and materials and techniques used for collage represented in contemporary fabric art. Based on the results, we look at artists of fabric collage and their works of art, and suggest present and future directions on contemporary fabric collage.
      This study on fabric collage will provide an opportunity to recognize fabric art as an area of industrial arts and develop it into environmentally-friendly art with progressive artistic nature.
