1970년대 `대중소설`에 재현된 `대중 정체성`의 의미 연구 -조해일, 최인호, 조선작의 작품을 중심으로- = A study on the meaning of `popular identity` reproduced in 1970`s `Popular novel` -Focused on the works of Cho Hae-Il, Choi In-Ho, Cho-sun-Jak

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper explains the identity of `the public` reproduced in `popular novels` of the 1970s. The existing researches related to `popular novels` have made the identity of the public more ambiguous by excessively emphasizing materials, appreciation, and schematism without analytical discussions of `the public`. A lot of criticisms related to popular novels are not able to overcome the limitations of impressionistic criticism on the public of this time.
In this context, researches on popular novels of the 1970s need to consider the polysemous aspect of the concept, `the public. The most crucial element to separate popular novels from previous novels is not by appreciation and schematism of popular novels, but the relation between the formation background of capitalistic society and novels. For example, the historical base in accordance with the industrialization, urbanization, formation of consumer culture, new class, and space, developmental dictatorship, and the political topography is the sociocultural agent qualitatively separating novels of this time from previous novels in the 1960s. Therefore, reproducing the structure of reality cognition and contents into novels, the understanding of the public according with the personal development in society of the 1970s would be an important element to understand popular novels.
