남극 세종기지 부근에 출현하는 조류(鳥類) = Avifauna Occurring around the King Sejong Station, King George Island, South Shetland Islands, Antarctic Peninsula

국문 초록 (Abstract)

남극반도에서 떨어진 남쉐틀랜드 군도 킹조지섬 바튼반도에 있는 우리나라의 남극연구기지인 세종기지 부근에 출현하는 조류들을 간단하게 보고한다. 세종기지 부근에서는 19종의 조류가 출현하는 것으로 보이며 그 가운데 16종을 확인했다. 이는 펭귄류 5종 (젠투, 췬스트랩, 아델리, 황제, 마카로니), 갈매기류 2종(남극검은등갈매기, 남극제비갈매기), 도둑갈매기 2종 (남극스쿠아, 갈색스쿠아), 페트렐류 3종(자이언트 페트렐, 핀타도 페트렐, 스노우 페트렐), 아메리카 쉬스빌, 푸른눈 가마우지, 윌슨 스톰 페트렐 등이다. 푸른페트렐은 브랜스필드해협에서 관찰되었다. 완더링 알바트로스와 로이얼 알바트로스 및 북극제비갈매기는 기지부근에 출현하는 것으로 보인다. 세종기지 부근에 나타나는 조류의 계속적인 연구를 위하여 몇 가지를 제안했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Avifauna occurring around the Korean Antarctic Research Station, the King Sejong Station located in the Barton Peninsula, King George Island, South Shetland Islands off the Antarctic Peninsula was briefly noted. It appears that a total of 19 species of the Avifauna are occurring in the vicinity of the king Sejong Station. Among them, a total of 16 species were identified in the area: Five species of Spheniscidae (Pygoscelis papua, P. antarctica, P. adeliae, Aptenodytes forsteri, Eudyptes chrysolophus), two species of Laridae (Larus dominicanus, Sterna vittata), two species of Stercorariidae (Catharacta maccormicki, C. lonnbergi), three species of Procellariidae (Macronectes giganteus, Daption capense, Pagodroma nivea), Chionis alba, Phalacrocorax atriceps, Oceanites oceanicus. And Halobaena caerulea was observed in the Bransfield Strait. It seems that species of Diomedeidae such as Diomedea exulans and/or D. epomophora and Arctic tern, Sterna paradisaea also may occur in the area. Several suggestions were suggested for the continuous research of the Avifauna occurring in the vicinity of the king Sejong Station.
