These travelers buy local souvenirs, favoring unique and creatively inspired items for gifts or as keepsakes. The most popular souvenirs are local specialty products, either consumable or crafted item, that are easy to carry and store, useful, and reasonably priced. A trending movement in the industry, these locally inspired crafted products are fusing with information technologies, creating wholly new, more functionally relevant product. Globally speaking, every nation and culture is unique, meaning only they can truly create their own unique, cultural, crafted products. Continuing globalization is resulting in more multiculturally interconnected lifestyles; other people in other countries also want access to Korean culture and products. The global generation is now, and cultural lifestyle boundaries, internationally and domestically, are starting to blur, creating even more demand for uniquely local, cultural products. The purpose of this study is to do an in-depth analysis of successful campaigns by local governments to brand and promote their local heritage through their products, branding strategy, promotional materials, pricing and budgeting, and promotional support in order to identify what makes them so successful. The study will also analyze the benefits of establishing a cooperative association of artists and designers. The ultimate goal is to connect these aspects of success local artisans to promote successful business models and business relationships.
