Serum total cholesterol and cholesterol ester of normal full term pregnancy were cheked by means of Zak and Fisher`s method and compared with normal nonpregnant women and each other. The results were; (1) About 13% for total cholesterol and 18% for cholesteril ester of the group of toxemia of pregnancy were elevated more than that of the group of normal full term pregnancy. (2) The total cholesterol and cholesterol ester of 6 eclamptic Patients were lowered about 22 %, and 28% respectively than 16 patients of pre-eclampsia. (3) Cholesterol levels of all groups of pregnancy were significantly elevated more than that of normal nonpregnant women.
