      The purpose of this study was to examine how type of combined resistance exercise affects the pain and vascular compliance. Subjects were 17 middle-aged women with chronic shoulder disorder. The subjects were divided into stretching+dumbbell exercise group(SD, n=8) and stretching+elastic band exercise group(SB, n=9), who have trained in 6 weeks, respectively. Also pain and vascular compliance were measured by means of visual analogue scale(VAS) and PWV, respectively. The results were as followed;First, in both SD and SB group, the significant decrement was founded on pain of left shoulder, and more decrease in SD. Second, in both SD and SB group, the significant decrement was reveled on pain of right shoulder, but no significant showed between groups. Third, SB group has more improved on vascular compliance in left and right arm compared to that of SD group, but no significant difference represented between groups in both left and right arm. Forth, only right leg of SD group has increased on vascular compliance, and no significant difference represented between groups in both left and right legThe results suggested that both combined resistance exercises are effective on pain and stretching+elastic band exercise is more effective on vascular compliance of arm.
