      The objectives of this study were to review the situation and the problems, and to suggest the directions and the educational method to the aged education.
      The major findings of this study were as follows:
      1) The population structure of Korea is changing rapidly to the advanced country type.
      2) The aged education of the advanced countries had started in the early 20th century, but its korea was enacted and institutionaized in the late of 20th century.
      3) The actual state of the aged education was 866 school and 93681 students
      4) The current programs of the aged education formed as follows; the cultural studies(30%), learning the skill(20%) and health care(20%). But by the survey of learning desire of the aged learners, they wanted more programs of the health care, the solving capacity of their current affairs and the hobby and entertainment.
      5) The educational equipments, and budget of the aged education were not enough to managed well by its supports.
      Therefore, some direction were drawn for more efficient the aged education.
      1) The educational process of the aged must be divided into the early stage(the age of 55-75) and the late stage(above 75).
      2) The planning of the aged education must be invided as following 7 factors; ① The good educational environment ② The organizing of program committee ③ The diagnosis of the learner's desire and interest ④ The setting up the education aims ⑤ the correct planning of the program ⑥ the preceeding of the study activities ⑦ the evaluate of the study.
      3) The contents of the aged education must be satisfied the following learner's desires: ① spontaneity ② respect for the aged ③ variety ④ individualization ⑤ experience.
      5) The aged education must be utilized the effective educational method and teaching material.
      6) The management of the aged education must be carried out by the specialists of adult education.
      7) The advanced foreign countries' case study of age education must be put to practical to its korea, so it will reduce the trial and error.
