The main function of a landing gear is to absorb the impact energy during the landing. Various types of shock absorber are existed but most aircraft use an oleo-pneumatic type which essentially consists of an oil damper and a gas spring. In actual use, many parameters can have a certain amount of variations which affect the overall performance of impact energy absorption. For example, the shock strut gas pressure, oil and gas volume and tire pressure can have deviations from their nominal values. In this paper, the convex modeling and interval analysis are applied to performance analysis of landing gear with uncertain parameters. The results show that the ground reaction characteristics are quite different from those of the deterministic method. The peak load, which affects the overall efficiency and the structural integrity, is considerably increased when the uncertainties considered.
