신거무 전설의 연구 = A Study of 'Singomu's tales'(신거무 전설)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

The legend of Singomu(신거무) has been handed down in the regino
of Chang-Sang(長成) from mouth to mouth. The legend of Singomu
is a piece of work which is meaningul in aspects of history and
society. I separate this study into three parts which are consisted of
the structure, the characterics of each figure and the meaning.
The structure is consisted of 7 steps which is Introduction (증시물),
Motive, Development, Crisis, Upmount, Result, and proof(증시부).
The first half part of the legend is showing aspects of the conflict to
be a county ruler. (Singomu who is new appointed county ruler) In
the second half part of it the conflict which is shown in the first
part is melting down and and new conflict between Singomu and the
father of the man is arising.
In the part of characterrics of each figure. I observed three main
charactristics of men, who are Singomu, the man and the father named
in Song-sun(宋順).
1. Singomu; He is a man of excellence. He who had grown up
under poor circumstances is the image of poverty, the lower class,
native and inside man of particular region.
2. The man who wants to be a county ruler; He who has respon-
sibility and sense of achievement but dogmatic and lack of indu-
rance and preparance. He is man of the higher class, delegacy
and a noble man(兩班). He is government-like import and nobi-
lity. He is the image of delegate by government.
3. The Song-Sun (宋順) who is the father of the man who wants
to be a county ruler; He who has sense of deliberateness and
consideration, preparance indurance, strongliness and forskowle-
dge. He who hatred Singomu is a man of upper power and he
uses moderate way is the image of the government power.
separated the meaning of the legend into the neaning of history
and society. In aspects of the historical meaning. I observed simililarity
between a main character and Singomu whose nation is post-BaekJae
(後百濟), It is because I'm recognized the legend is a piece of succe-
ssive work which is limited in the region of Chang-Song. Therefore
the conflict between Singomu and other charscters in the legend is
compared to the struggling between Gorea (高麗) and Post-BaekJae,
the conflict between the man who wants to be a county ruler, and
other characters is to circumstances of post-BaekJae's falling down
and the conflict between the father of the man and other characters
circumstances under which Post-BaekJae is fallen down. In aspects of
social meaning, Rural Power in the periodof Gorea is fallen to Middle
Class which is attached to rural government in early Choson (朝鮮).
In that reason I conclude that the legend is showing the conflict
between new-appointed government-like power that is (The man who
wants to be a count ruler) attached to rural government.
The study should be accelent if the reason why Song-Sun helps
somebody the conflict between Singom (神劍) and Kjuntion (甄萱), and
the structure of this narration of a man (or he) who falled is notified
through more sources.
