성품 윤리로 분석한 한국교회의 도덕적 성품 형성 = Moral Character Formation of the Korean Church based on Character’s Ethics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examines the moral crisis of the Korean church based on character’s ethics. It also delves into the ethical problems of the Korean church and the assimilation of narratives between Korean society and the Korean church. This paper not only shows the assimilation of narratives that caused the moral crisis of the Korean church but also provides the necessity of faithful narratives for the Korean church. In order to solve many moral problems of the Korean church, it is necessary to acknowledge the reality of the current master narrative that distorts the moral character of the Korean church, and to build a narrative of the Korean church that is faithful to the biblical narrative.
This paper also aims to show that the methodologies of Stanley Hauerwas and H. Richard Niebuhr can be effective to explain and analyze the assimilation of cultural and ecclesial narratives that have caused the moral crisis of the Korean church. In addition, it argues for the necessity of discovering new narratives for the Korean church and Korean society in terms of character ethics.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국교회의 도덕적 문제는 한국교회의 일부의 일탈 행위이거나 어느 특정 시기에 일어난 일시적인 행위로 치부할 수 없다. 이 논문은 한국교회의 지배적 서사로 작동한 성장의 서사를 살펴 보고 한국사회의 경제 성장 서사가 한국교회에 끼친 영향을 분석하있다. 성장 서사가 한국사회와 한국교회에 경제 발전과 교회 성장을 이루는데 기여하였지만, 그에 따른 부작용 역시 적지 않다. 성장 서사의 지나친 추구에 의한 부작용 중 가장 두드러진 것은 도덕적 문제점들이다. 한국교회의 많은 도덕적 문제를 분석하기 위해 한국교회의 도덕적 성품을 왜곡시킨, 현재의 지배적 서사의 실체를 인정하고, 한국교회의 서사를 성경적 서사에 충실하게 구축해 가는 노력이 필요하다.
이 논문은 스탠리 하우어워스(Stanley Hauerwas)와 리처드 니버(H. Richard Niebuhr)의 방법론이 한국 교회의 도덕적 위기를 초래한 문화적, 교회적 서사의 동화를 설명하고 분석하는데 효과적인 접근 방식이라는 점을 보이고자 한다. 또한 공동체의 서사가 공동체 구성원의 성품을 형성하는 성품윤리적 측면에서 한국교회와 한국사회를 위한 새로운 서사 발굴의 필요성을 주장한다.
