Gosong Shin Hong-Mang(1600~1673)’s exile diary 『Jangsaillok』 was written from October 9th to December 21st 1652(The 3rd year in the reign of King Hyojong). From October 9th to 17th, the journey to be transferred to Hanyang was recorded. After that, for about 25 days till November 13th, everyday, he recorded his situation of waiting for the order until the place of exile was changed from Hongjewon to Pyeonghae. At that time, Shin Hong-Mang had to wait for the order in Hongjewon for a long time because it took a long time to finally decide the place of exile. After Byeokdong(currently, Pyeonganbuk -do) was originally decided as the place of exile, the dispute related to the withdrawal of exile was continued in the Royal Court. Meanwhile, it was commuted and changed to the punishment of exile, which even caused confusion as the ministers asked for its withdrawal. During the rest period, he recorded the days of departing for the place of exile, living in the place, and leaving Pyeonghae after the exile was lifted.
In the results of examination, 『Jangsaillok』 clearly showed the characteristic record trend as follows. First, from the decision to the execution of exile, the dispute was continued in the Royal Court, and the personal situation experienced by Shin Hong-Mang was described together with the political background in detail. The determination process of exile was recorded in real time, which is hard to be found in historical books such as 『Annals』 or 『The Diaries of the Royal Secretariat』. Of course, the individual’s view is its clear limitation. Second, from the beginning to the end of exile, Shin Hong-Mang meticulously recorded people who helped him materially and emotionally, and monetary help they supported. Most of the people appearing in the diary were mentioned only as ja, ho, or public post, so it is tough to know who they were. However, Shin Hong-Mang made efforts to record 『Jangsaillok』 by marking each person with side dots. Regarding the marking of people, the name of public post was correctly written. In case when there was no public post, the name was clarified. Third, it was not recorded during the time of exile, but reorganized in the form of diary in his latter years, so the emotions felt by Shin Hong-Mang during the exile were objectively described. 『Jangsaillok』 was recorded by Shin Hong-Mang again afterwards. As a record meticulously showing the people who helped him, it would be good to fragmentarily, but solidly examine the political exchanges of people in the central political world of the time, and also to examine how the human network of Shin Hong-Mang himself or his clan was crossing the region and political position.
