: New synthetic fabrics are sensitive to heat and tension because they are made of microfibers . Low tension-type dyeing and finishing equipements are neede for dyeing and finishing of them. Thus, in this study aerodynamic technology was applied as a driving force of the fabrics to develope "GREEN-FLOW" Dyeing M/C which is lower bath ratio, lower tension, and environmental conservative type. Polyester charmeuse fabrics were dyed to compare developed machine with Luft-roto Dyeing M/C which is made by Thies Company, German. The test results were as follows:
1) The resits of color fastness tests showed that the fabrics dyed with both Luft-roto and GREEN-FLOW Dyeing M/C had above 4-5 of color fastness to washing, above 4 of color fastness to sublimation, and 5 of color fastness to rubbing.
2) The drapability of the fabrics was 0.294 in both cases.
3) In the case of the fabrics dyed with Luft-roto Dyeing M/C, the mean value of dE was 31.323 with 0.2176 of the standard deviation and that of K/S was 0.3666 with 0.0054 of the standard deviation. Dyeing uptake of the fabrics dyed with Luft-roto Dyeing M/C was somewhat higher than that dyed with GREEN-FLOW dyeing M/C. However, dyeing levelness of the fabrics dyed with GREEN-FLOW Dyeing M/C was higher than that dyed with Luft-roto dyeing M/C.
4) The results of handle tests for the fabrics dyed with both Luft-roto and GTEEN-FLOW dyeing M/C, showed that KOSHI was 6.08 and 6.12 NUNIERI was 6.39 and 6.55, FUKURAMI was 4.60/4.81, and THV was 426 and 4.40, respectively.
5) Fabric speed(yds/min.) of right and left tube of GREEN-FLOW Dyeing M/C was 471.5 and 499.0 with 16.53 and 13.06 of the standard deviation, respectively, while those of Luft-roto Dyeing M/C was 489.2 and 496.4 with 16.88 and 13.62 of the standard deviation respectively.
