한국 웹툰에 나타난 스노비즘 연구 = 〈미지의 세계〉, 〈미결〉, 〈먹는 존재〉를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국의 웹툰은 현대 사회의 양상과 패러다임을 적극적으로 반영한다. 본고에서는 게오르크 루카치의 ‘환멸적 낭만주의’를 적용하여, 한국 웹툰에 나타난 디지털 스노비즘의 양상과 의미를 고찰하고자 한다. 특히 웹툰 〈미지의 세계〉, 〈미결〉, 〈먹는 존재〉의 경우, 내용적으로 예술을 주요 소재로 삼으면서 주인공의 행동 대신 사유를 중심으로 서사를 전개한다는 점에서 특이할 만하다. 해당 웹툰의 주인공은 세계와 자아의 불화를 인식하는 가운데, 보편적이고 일상적인 것들로부터 스스로를 구별함으로써 자아의식을 확보하려 노력한다. 한국 웹툰에 나타난 스노비즘은 자아의 세계 인식과 대응 방식에 따라서 세부적으로 보헤미안 스노비즘과 룸펜 스노비즘으로 구분된다. 디지털 스노비즘을 표방한 웹툰은, 웹툰의 내용적 장르를 다양화하고 서사적 저변을 확대했다. 텍스트 외적으로는 현대 한국 사회의 문제점과 이에 대한 소시민의 대응 태도를 직접적으로 반영한다. 이에 한국의 웹툰은 현대인의 사회 인식과 그 대응 양상을 디지털 형식으로 재현한 대표적인 서사 양식이라 할 만하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Korean webtoons reflect the paradigm of modern society and culture. The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning and aspects of snobbism in Korean Webtoons based on ‘romanticism of disillusionment’ proposed by Georg Lukacs. As main texts, 〈The World of Miji〉, 〈Mi-gyeol: Undecided〉, 〈The Eating Existence〉 are differentiated from other webtoons by dealing with stories of art, culture and centering on main character’s agony instead of character’s action. These characters are conscious of discord between themselves and their societies. Then they attempt to distinguish their lives from general ones in order to achieve self-realization. These webtoons are classified into each case that shows ‘bohemian snobbism’ and ‘lumpen snobbism’. Snobbism in webtoons diversified genres and expanded the base of narrative in Korean webtoons. Furthermore, it proved that Korean webtoons represent issues in Korean contemporary society and reactions of ordinary people. Webtoons are evaluated as the most important contents in Korea for reflecting modern society and social recognitions of citizens.
