The quality of medical service gets determined by collaboration of various members in hospital. What makes management of quality of medical service difficult is the specialized and segmented service technique performed by various members in hospital (doctor, nurse, radiological technologist, medical laboratory technologist, physical therapist, etc) and because their medical practices are closely connected with each other. Many precedent studies stated that nurses are the member who make the greatest effect on the quality of medical service perceived by patients. The assertion can be identified by considering which member is mostly connected with patients at the contact point of medical service. Smooth communication between nurses is very important in terms of care services of patients. However, the fact that nurses are the people directly connected with the 'burning culture' in hospitals in Korea passed on through media suggests that there is a problem in their communication. This study intends to consider the burning culture conducted among nurses from ethical management perspective. Therefore, this study analyzed the mediating effects of ethical competence perceived by nurses on a relationship between ethics program in hospital and job satisfaction. Also, this study took statistics by considering marital status, age group, region, academic background, and work department as control variables to secure internal validity of this study. Interpretation on medical service from ethical management perspective suggested in this study is expected to serve as an alternative that can reduce the burning culture of nurses who work in silence under exhausting work.
