초등학교 교육과정에서의 특별활동의 성격과 그 변천 = Characteristics and Changes of Extra-curriculum in Elementary Schools

The purpose of this study wart to review characteristics and changes of extra-curriculum, to establish firmly the position and role of it and to meek active operating method of it in elementary schools.
The contents of this study was to search the educational significance of extra-curriculum, the position of it in the elementary school curriculum, the characteristics and features of it, and the changes of it and development course of extra-curriculum operation in elementary schools,
The conclusions of this study was to find extra-curriculum to be an important educational activity operated more actively as an education for the whole man on equal and complementary cooperation with other subjects activity in elementary school curriculums.
Extra-curriculum can upgrade democratic citizens' qualities, make good relationships among individuals, develop individuals' personalities and talents by providing a variety of chances for self-expression, and make good use of their spare moments by developing sound tastes and literary cultures through desirable group activities.
