다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

After switching to online classes due to COVID-19, the biggest concern is that teenagers are leading to excessive Internet immersion and addiction. This study, targeting male middle and high school students (N=940), attempted to find out the current status of Internet use for learning and non-learning purposes, the impact and satisfaction of online classes on daily life, and differences according to amount of online class, GPA, devices used, and age. As a result, after switching to online classes, students with a large amount of online classes evaluated themselves to be better in terms of learning effects, regular lifestyle habits, and personal time use. Online classes did not necessarily increase Internet usage for non-learning purposes. But, GPA was an important variable, and students with low GPA had fewer online classes, and increased internet usage and internet addiction scores after conversion to online classes. In addition, when middle school students used phones, Internet usage for non-learning purposes was higher, and amount of increase in Internet use and the degree of Internet addiction were also higher after switching to online class. The implications related to these results were discussed.

코로나 19로 인해 온라인 수업으로 전환한 후 가장 큰 우려는 이것이 청소년의 인터넷 과다 몰입과 중독으로 이어지는 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 남자 중학생 및 고등학생(N=940)을 대상으로 학습 및 학습외 목적의 인터넷 사용 현황을 알아보고 온라인 수업으로 인해 일상생활에 미치는 영향과 만족도는 어떠한지, 그리고 개인의 인터넷 수업량, 성적, 사용기기, 연령에 따른 차이를 규명하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 온라인 수업전환과 관련된 만족도 측면에서 온라인 수업량이 많은 학생들이 학습효과나 규칙적인 생활습관, 개인시간 활용 등에서 스스로 더 좋아졌다고 평가하였다. 온라인 수업이 반드시 수업외 인터넷 사용량을 증가시키지는 않았으나, 성적이 중요 변수로서 성적이 낮은 학생은 온라인 수업량이 적고, 온라인수업전환 후 인터넷 사용증가량 및 인터넷 중독점수가 높았다. 이외에 중학생이 스마트폰을 사용한 경우 학업외 목적의 인터넷 사용량이 더 많았고, 온라인 수업전환 후 인터넷사용증가량 및 인터넷 중독 정도도 더 높은 것으로 나타나 이와 관련된 시사점을 기술하였다.
