시설환경에 입소한 재미한인노인의 삶의 질 영향요인 = Factors Influencing the Quality of Life in Korean-American Immigrant Elderly Placed under Health Care Facilities Environment in the US

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to comprehend the influential factors of the quality of life in Korean-American immigrant elderly placed under health care facilities in the United States. The data was analyzed using SPSS 21.0. The results were as such: family support was also related to depression, and powerlessness was related to depression and the quality of life. Powerlessness was statistically different to age, the level of education, the health conditions and ADLs. Depression was statistically different to the frequency of family visits and ADLs, and the quality of life was statistically different to the subject’s age. The 45.7% of the quality of life was explained by depression and powerlessness. In other words, the lower the levels of depression and powerlessness, the higher the quality of life. The conclusion derived from this study is that, in order to improve the qualities of the lives of Korean-American immigrant elderly under the care of US health care facilities, it is crucial to consider the age, the level of education, the health conditions, and the ADLs and continually manage the levels of depression and powerlessness in each of them.
