The design for the area which shows discontinuous and disturbed stress distribution has depended on the empirical result, so the unexpected crack may result in critical situation of the serviceability and safety of the concrete structure. we focused at the development of the rational and consistent design method using strut-tie model for the D-region, hence developed design procedure for the abut diaphragm anchorage of the external prestressed concrete box bridge and verified the safety of the developed model via structural model test.
