This paper analyses and examines the aspects of human relationships and articulation functions in terms of ``negativizing of the expression of positive treatment.`` Through analysing the conversations from the scenario collections, it was observed that there were four types of articulation functions - sarcasm, apathy, teasing, and criticism - and ``expressions of positive treatment`` uncorrelated to the purpose were used to deliver negative treatment. In regards to human relationships within these conversations, upper to lower, equal to equal, and lower to lower types of relationships were seen, with equal to equal human relationships being the majority of the observation. The upper to lower human relationships were mainly consisted of parent and child or superior to subordinate relationships while equal to equal relationships were generally between friends or coworkers. In regards to these two types of relationships , ``negativizing of the expression of positive treatment`` was used to magnify the perlocutionary effect in order to emphasise the speaker`s articulation functions in most of the examples. The lower to upper types of relationships were predominantly of child to parent relationships that through the use of ``negativizing of the expression of positive expressions,`` the speakers expressed themselves in a way that their intention of negative treatment were not noticeably felt by the listeners.
