Alkalinity of pharmaceutical containers is to be highly influenced for liquid pharmaceuticals.
The criteria of the alkalinity of ampules and vials(Containers for Injection) used as pharmaceutical containers is established in the Korean Pharmacopoeia. However, the criteria of general containers for liquid pharmaceuticals is not established in the Korea Pharmacopoeia.
Therefore, we tried to perform comparing test for domestic products and foreign products of following groups:
(1) containers for injection.
(2) general containers for liquid pharmaceuticals.
(3) general containers for tablet pharmaceuticals.
It was found that the domestically produced containers for injection were good enough for criteria, while almost thirty percent of non-established containers was unsatisfactory.
