    Ninety nine Korean-American students and 42 parents in Chicago area were asked to respond to 40 semi structured questions covering school work, assignment, punishment, teacher-student relation, extra curricular activities, subjects, parent relation, race and daily life.
    Major findings were :
    1) American schools were perceived as less authoritative, less punitive than the Korean schools they had attended.
    2) American teachers were rated as more concerned about students, more enthusiastic than the Korean couterpart.
    3) Korean schools put more emphasis on order and restrictions due to the large size of class.
    4) Most of respondents reported the subtle race discrimination but that did not
    constitute problems. In general, they were happy and working hard.
    5) Most of the students wanted to learn more about Korean culture and Korean way of life. they wanted to keep and learn Korean language.
