논항이론과 중국어 동사 논항구조 연구 (2) = Thematic Theory and Thematic Structures of Verbs in Chinese (2)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper shows that the thematic theory and unaccusative hypothesis also can be applied to distinguish the two classes of three-place predicates in Chinese. According to the unaccusative hypothesis, intransitive and transitive verbs can be classified into two types, i.e. unaccusative series and unergative series. In this paper we argued that ditransitive verbs also can be divided into two types. The give-type double object construction belongs to the unaccusative series, while the rob-type double object construction belongs to the unergative series. In this point, we can reanalyze the two types of the double object construction of Chinese. The give-type double object construction is analyzed as three-place unaccusative construction with one object and two subjects while the rob-type double object construction is analyzed as true double object construction with one subject.
