고등학교 시각장애 학생들의 눈의 구조와 기능 개념 조사 = Investigation of Visually Impaired High School Students` Conceptions of Eye Structure and Function

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate visually impaired high school students` conceptions of eye structure and function. An eye model assembly activity set was developed and administered to 15 visually impaired high school students to investigate their conceptions of eye structure and function. The results of the study showed that many of students` understanding of the terms and function of the components of the eye were inaccurate and incomprehensive. The number of students who accurately responded to the question about eye structure and function particularly decreased during the eye model assembly activity. This study also suggested that visually impaired students should learn the concepts of the structure and function of the human body through laboratory investigations, models, pictures, and comparative studies of the anatomy of other organisms.
