한국 교사교육자의 전문성 개발을 위한 셀프 연구(Self-study)의 도입 = Self-study for the Korean Teacher Educators’ Professional Development

국문 초록 (Abstract)

셀프 연구(self-study)는 교육자가 자신의 교육활동을 반성하고, 현장에서 부딪히는 문제와 교육자로서 갖는 내적 딜레마 혹은 갈등을 연구함으로써 실천적인 교육 지식을 생산하는 연 구 방법이다. 주로 교사교육자들에 의해 수행되어 온 셀프 연구는 교사교육자 개인의 전문성 신장을 꾀할 뿐 아니라, 비슷한 환경에 있는 동료 교사교육자에게도 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 지식을 생산한다. 또한 교사교육자의 성장과 변화는 그들이 가르치고 있는 예비교사와 현직교사의 학습과 성장을 유도하며, 실천적 지식을 기반으로 교사교육 프로그램의 개선을 이룰 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 궁극적으로 셀프 연구 수행을 통해 얻어진 실천적 이론과 지 식들은 교사교육 학문 공동체의 지식 체계를 더욱 풍성히 하며 교사교육 분야의 연구 장르 및 연구 방법을 다양화하는 장점을 가지고 있다. 셀프 연구는 미국과 서구 국가의 교사교육자들에 의해 1990년대부터 활발히 연구되기 시작 하여 현재는 교육학 분야의 하나의 연구방법론으로 자리 잡았지만, 한국에서는 아직 그 활동 이 미약하다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 셀프 연구의 개념, 목적, 방법 등을 소개함으로써 한국 의 교사교육자들에게 셀프 연구의 가치를 알리고, 그들이 셀프 연구를 수행할 수 있도록 돕 고자 한다. 특히, 한국의 교사교육자들의 교수능력 향상과 신임교사교육자의 오리엔테이션 등 을 위해 셀프 연구가 더욱 필요하다고 본다.
