심리적 안전감을 주는 주거지 보행 공간 특성에 관한 조사 연구- 광주광역시 노후단독주거지역을 중심으로 - = A Study on the Characteristics of Pedestrian Spaces in Residential Areas based on Psychological Safety - Focus on the Decrepit Residential Areas in Gwangju, Korea -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Aged or poorly constructed residential areas have become a factor of direct and indirect stresses to the citizens, causing social problems and the psychological unrest of the citizens. Thus there is ongoing discussion on residential maintenance and redevelopment of various points of view to create safe residential areas. However, the actual results for the safety of residential areas are focused on functional and technical aspects rather than cognitive and emotional safety.
As a result, psychological safety has been focused on a fragmentary plan that does not consider emotional aspects.
Therefore, it is necessary to study a design of cognitive and emotional safe space based on understanding of psychological safety of urban people as a more microscopic and realistic view from the fragmentary viewpoint. The purpose of this study is to measure how much the urban residence realize psychological safety and spatial characteristics in the pedestrian space. The analysis is based on basic statistic to determine the spatial characteristics that give psychological safety. The results of this study showed that if the cognition of Placeness in the pedestrian space was higher, then people feel more psychological safety. Also, if people feel less psychological safety, the cognition of Connectivity in pedestrian space was higher.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

주거지는 다양한 삶이 한데 어우러지고 진정한 공동체로서의 도시생활이 영위될 수 있는 삶의 터전이자, 도시민의 일상생활을 담아내는 도시의 핵심적인 구성단위이다.
그러나 시간의 흐름에 따라 노후화 되거나 열악해진 주거지는 도시민에게 직·간접적인 스트레스의 요인이 되어 사회적 문제를 야기시키며 도시민의 심리적 불안을 초래한다.
이에 안전한 주거지 조성을 위한 다양한 관점의 주거지 정비 및 재개발에 대한 논의가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 실제적인 주거지의 안전을 위한 결과물은 인지·정서적 측면의 안전보다는 기능·기술적인 측면에 집중되어 결과적으로는 도시민 관점의 심리적 ‘안전’과 정서적 측면의 ‘공간’에 대한 고려를 하지 못한 단편적인 방안에 치중되어왔다. 따라서 기존의 거시적이고 단편적인 관점에서 벗어나 보다 실질적이고 미시적 관점인 도시민 중심의 심리적 안전을 이해와 이를 바탕으로 한 인지·정서적 안전한 공간실현을 위한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 도시민 중심의 정서적 디자인 연구의 일환으로 안전한 주거지란 ‘안전’이라는 심리적 분위기 즉 공간이 지니는 성격을 구현하는 것으로 이해하고 안전한 보행공간을 위한 공간성격을 도출한 후 설문을 통해 공간성격과 심리적 안전의 상관관계를 분석해 보고자 한다. 이는 도시민과 가장 밀접하게 연결되어지는 주거지 보행공간의 물리적 환경과 공간구성요소들의 상호관계에 대한 이해를 포함하는 것으로, 노후주거지 보행공간의 공간성격과 심리적 안전감의 상관관계의 이해는 도시민 중심의 실질적인 안전한 보행공간 조성함에 있어 정서적 디자인 구현 위한 기초자료로서 의의가 있다.
