창작스튜디오의 교육 프로그램 현황 분석 = Application scheme of art residency program for art education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현재 국내에 설치된 창작스튜디오의 현황 및 역할과 해외 창작스튜디오의 기능을 비교 분석한 결과, 우리의 창작 스튜디오는 일반인이 보다 손쉽게 접근할 수 있는 교육 프로그램의 개발이 미흡한 것으로 조사되었다. 창작스튜디오는 다양한 장르의 미술가들에게 공간을 제공하는 기능에 더하여 입주 작가들과 함께하는 오픈스튜디오, 학교연계 프로그램 그리고 가족 프로그램 등 전문적이고 다양한 사회 교육적 활동을 지원할 수 있는 환경을 지니고 있다. 따라서 창작스튜디오를 활용한 미술교육은 학교 미술 교육만으로는 부족한 시각 문화 사회와의 소통을 이끌어 내 줄 수 있는 좋은 대안이 다. 창작스튜디오를 통한 미술교육은 창의적 소질을 지닌 인재들에게 미술 활동의 제작 과정과 결과물을 직접적으로 체험하고 작가들과 소통할 수 있는 기회를 제공하며 일반인들에게 현대미술을 이해하고 이에 접근하는데 있어 상당한 역할을 한다. 선진화된 문화시민을 육성하는 국가 시책과 연계하여 창작스튜디오를 통한 교육 프로그램 개발에 정부 및 지방 자치 단체로부터의 지원 확대가 요망된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Although the main objectives to set up the art residency are providing the workspace and residential area for contemporary artists, it can also serve as an extra curricula art education institution for general citizen. The art residency can offer the educational program such as open studio, school art supporting program, family program and so on. The aim of this research is to understand the current conditions and status of Korean art residencies, to evaluate the problems it confronts, and to find out the effective methods for art education, which is valuable for teaching art and a viable resource for art education practice. As current art education in visual culture needs for international perspectives, the function and ability of residencies become ever more important. The survey results suggest that if art teachers and administrators establish structured partnerships with art residencies within community, students can develop esthetic sense more vividly. Furthermore, students can understand the meaning of creativity and work processes to make an art object. In addition to this, by providing and supporting art education program of residencies, art education can utilize a critical pedagogical approach where visual culture provides the content and issues through educationally effective program.
