In the present study, the synthesis of (2-oxo-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methacrylate(DOMA) from carbon dioxide and glycidyl methacrylate(GMA) was investigated using soluble polymer-immobilized quaternary ammonium salts as catalysts. The catalysts were prepared by solution copolymerization of styrene(ST) and vinylbenzyl chloride(VBC), followed by the quaternization using trialkylamines. The influence of VBC concentration, the structure of trialkyl amine of quaternary salts and the type of solvents on the catalytic behavior was discussed.
