The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of difference temperature on energy expenditure and cardiovascular function during prolonged exercise. 7 healthy males measured to exercise intensity corresponding 60% ?O₂nax of normal temperature(NT:20±0.5℃), low temperature(LT:5±0.5℃), high temperature (HT:35±0.5℃) and 50±3% humidity condition in auto temperature and humidity control system. Each experimental exercise monitored and analyzed the changes in energy expenditure and cardiovascular function. ?O₂, ?CO₂, VE, HR, RER showed a higher tendency HT than NT and LT. CHO expenditure ratio showed a significant(p<.05) lower value at exposed 30min in LT than NT and HT, fat expenditure ratio showed a significant(p<.05) higher value at exer. 45min, post exercise in LT than NT and HT. In summary, LT condition effect on high activation of fat metabolism during prolonged exercise and HT condition effect on high load of cardiovascular function during prolonged exercise. Therefor, LT condition seems to affect endurance exercise capacity.
