음악지도에 말리듬을 활용하는 교수방안 = The Teaching Approach Utilizing Speech Rhythm in Music Instruction

국문 초록 (Abstract)

음악과 밀접한 관련을 지니고 있는 언어는 음악교육의 좋은 소재로서 말을 붙여 리듬을 읽는 말리듬(speech rhythm)은 효과적인 리듬지도방안으로 도입되고 있다. 오르프(C. Orff)는 일상생활에 쓰는 말이나 동시, 속담 등의 언어소재를 활용하여 리듬을 익히고 노래와 악기연주로 확장되는 음악교수방법을 제시하였다. 그러나 리듬 강세구조가 한국어와 다른 서양음악의 리듬을 우리말을 통해 학습하는데 어려움이 있기에 말리듬 지도에서 우리말 언어소재의 선택이 용이하지 않다. 이에 본 연구는 말리듬 지도에서 교사들이 고려해야 할 한국어의 언어적 특성과 한국시의 운율적 특징을 관련문헌을 통해 고찰하였으며, 이를 토대로 실제 지도과정에 도입하기 위하여 말리듬을 활용하는 교수방안을 다음의 언어소재별로 제시하였다: 단어게임, 동시, 속담, 수수께끼, 놀이노래 및 이야기. 본 연구에서 제안한 말리듬 활용의 다양한 교수법적 아이디어와 언어소재 선정과 관련된 고려사항 등은 말리듬에 대한 교사들의 이해를 도모하여 교육현장에 바람직한 말리듬 교육이 시행되는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Language closely related to music is regarded as an useful medium for music education, and speech rhythm which rhythm is chanted by the arrangement of spoken words has been introduced as an effective method for teaching rhythm. Carl Orff proposed a music teaching approach that uses speech rhythm employing words, children's poems, and adages to learn rhythm, then expanding to singing songs and playing instruments. However, the rhythmic stress structure of Western music is different from Korean language, and therefore, there are some difficulties in learning the rhythm of the former through the latter. Subsequently, it is not easy to select Korean words suitable for speech rhythm instruction based on Western language. Thus, this study examined linguistic characteristics of Korean language and rhythmic characteristics of Korean poems, which teachers should consider in speech rhythm instruction. Based on the review of the related literature, this study provided teaching approaches utilizing speech rhythm for actual learning activities by each of the following word materials: word game, children's poem, adage, riddle, play music, and story. It is expected that various pedagogical ideas employing speech rhythm and considerations related to selection of rhythmic chant materials proposed in this study will promote teachers' understanding of speech rhythm and implement desirable teaching methods incorporating speech rhythm in the field of music education.
