초등교사의 체육수업 내용선택과 수업대체 분석 = A Study on Elementary Teachers` Physical Education Class Curricular Choices and Class Substitute

The purpose of this study was to understand the trend of teachers` curricular choices and class substitution of elementary physical education class. Total of 311 elementary school teachers were participated in this study. The revised questionnaire developed by Faucette(1990) was used to collect data regarding curricular choice and class substitution. SPSS PC+ 8.0 package program was used to analyze data. Chi square was used to reveal statistical differences on class substitution between sexes, and teaching career The findings of this study were as follows: 1) Teachers` PE class curricular activity sphere was mainly "other activities" such as football, dodgeball, kickball, free play, folk play which are not included in national level curriculum of 6th grade. 2) About 80% of teachers substitute PE class at least once a week 3) The curricular choices was significantly different between teaching careers. 4) Class substitution was significantly different between teaching careers, and sexes To implement curriculum appropriately, the quality of teacher training program regarding physical education should be enhacned. In addition, placement of PE spcialized teacher should be facilitated in future.
