The purpose of this study is to analyze how employers perceive communication disorders.
During the study period, an online survey was conducted targeting employers of companies with more than five employees, resulting in 116 responses. The Vignette method was used to present pairs of 37 adjectives to evaluate perceptions. Analysis revealed that positive adjectives (e.g., open, friendly) were mainly used for non-disabled individuals, whereas negative adjectives (e.g., withdrawn, avoidant) were more frequently used for stuttering and voice disorders. This study confirms the prevalence of negative perceptions towards stuttering and voice disorders and emphasizes the need for educational programs to reduce misconceptions and biases among employers.
