수령체제가 창출한 ‘주체형의 인간’ 속성과 그 모순 = The Juche-type human being, created by the Sooryung system, and its characteristics and contradictions

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 북한이 수령 유일영도체계 수립과 함께 새로운 정치체계에 부합한 인간을 창출하는 과정을 논의하였다. 첫째, 북한 인민이 수령체제 운영 원리를 규율과 질서, 통제와 복종, 인내와 노력으로 내면화하는 과정을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 인간 관리 측면에서 추진했던 당국의 정책과 기능, 규범의 제도화 과정을 분석하였다. 셋째, 주체사상이 수령독재 세습체제로 귀결되고, 수령주의 인간 창출을 위한 도구로 변질되는 과정을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 당국의 정책, 북한 인민의 사고방식과 행동 양식을 통해 비판적으로 조명하였다.
기존 북한 인민은 사회주의적 생산·생활양식을 내면화한 집단주의 인간이었다. 하지만 1967년 수령 유일영도체계 수립 후 수령에 대한 충실성을 본질로 하는 수령주의 인간으로 재창출되었다. 1974년 세습영도자에 의해 ‘주체형의 인간’이 공식화되었다. 여기서 ‘주체’는 수령이고, ‘인간’은 개별적 인격체가 아니라 수령이라는 주체를 구성하는 분자였다. ‘주체형의 인간’은 수령에 대한 충실성을 신념화, 양심화, 도덕화, 생활화하고 높은 사상성과 인간성을 갖춘 사람을 지칭한다. ‘주체형의 인간’은 원초적 자아가 아니라 수령독재 권력이 제도화됨에 따라 개개인의 일상, 내면에 침투하여 형성된 인위적 자아이다. 따라서 북한 체제 내에서만 유효하다.
연구 결과를 바탕으로 수령체제가 창출한 ‘주체형의 인간’을 ‘순육형 복속인’으로 정의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study discusses the process of creating human beings that conform to North Korea’s newly formed Sooryung’s Monothetic Ruling System and its attributes. First, it examines the process by which the North Korean people internalized the operating principles of the Sooryung’s Monothetic Ruling System, such as discipline and order, control and obedience, and patience and hard work. Second, it discusses the institutionalization of the authorities’ policies, functions, and norms in terms of human management. Finally, this article analyzes the process by which the Juche ideology was degenerated into a succession of dictatorships and became a tool for creating Sooryung system’s human beings. Specifically, the party’s policies and the behavior and mindset of the North Korean people are critically examined.
Previously, the North Korean people were collectivist humans who internalized socialist production and lifestyle. However, after the establishment of the Sooryung’s Monothetic Ruling System in 1968, they were re-created as human beings with loyalty to the leader as their essence. In 1974, the “Juche-type human being” was formulated by the successor leader. Here, “Juche” is the Sooryung, and “human” is not an individual person but a molecule that constitutes a part of the Sooryung. A “Juche-type human being” refers to a person who believes, conscientizes, moralizes, and lives with faithfulness, possessing high ideological and human qualities.
The “Juche-type human being” is not an autonomous self but an artificial self- formed by the institutionalization of the dictatorial power of the Sooryung, penetrating into the daily lives and inner lives of individuals. Therefore, this human type is only valid within the North Korean system.
Based on the results, this research defines the “Juche-type human being” created by Sooryung’s Monothetic Ruling System as a “Disciplined Subordinate.”
