진양 『악서』공후조 도설(圖說)에 나타난 공후 명칭의 혼용 문제 분석 = Inquiry into the Mingled Usage of Gonghu…s Name in Explanatory Diagrams of Jinyang`s『Akseo』 Gonghu-Article

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Jinyang``s 『Akseo 樂書』is a very important and valuable music book which shows and explains different types of Gonghu through explanatory diagrams. Especially, this book makes a fivefold division of Gonghu into Big-Gohghu (大蚣帿), Small-Gonghu (小蚣帿 ), Angular Gonghu (隧蚣帿), Recumbent Gonghu (臥蚣帿) and Phoenix``s head Gonghu (鳳首蚣帿) and presents all the fine details each of them concretely through explanatory diagrams. But in Gonghu Article of Jinyang``s 『Akseo 樂書』there is quite a bit of gap between diagram and explanation. And it seems to me that this considerable difference was caused by Jinyang``s excessive enthusiasm. That is to say, he wanted to show as many data as possible and collected all existing data indiscriminately. Namely, his explanatory diagrams are a melting pot of the Gonghu-study of ancient sages, in which materials about Zither-like Gonghu and Harp-like Gonghu are jumbled together. Furthermore this considerable gab between diagram and explanation allows one reasoning that Jinyang recognized all Gonghu only as one type of Harp. Eventually, the name of Recumbent Gonghu (臥蚣帿) that he had classified caused cognominal confusion between two kinds of Gonghu, and this continues to the present time.
