Kim Sung-Ok(1940∼) depicts the inside of the unban people who have lost their indentity and describes the symptoms of industral capitalism which have been appearing since 1960's. He has been applauded for describing new forms and comparison with those of Korean-war generation.
The result are as follows ;
1. Kim Sung-Ok explores personality, which is quite a different approach from that of Koran-war generation. 'Mujin Gihaeng', 'Seoul 1964 Winter', others of the are somewhat similar to Dandyism of 1960's.
2. Kim Sung-Ok succeeded in making academic literature as one of founders of 'Sanmoonsyde'. He described the life of on outsider in the 1960's.
3. Kim Sung-Ok wrote initiation -novels in which the protagonists' fathers are away from their homes.
4. Kim Sung-Ok represented anxiety about uncertainty as 'fog' which takes a middle part. This novel caused a sensation.
5. Kim Sung-Ok tried to depict the heartless reality of abrupt change in the initial stage of modernization.
To summarize his novels in one sentence, I would say that his novels are records of Korean Life in the 1960's.
