从虚拟从向现实: 简论上海网民与网络社会生活的特点 = The Reflected Image of Reality on Virtual Space: on the Characteristics of Internet Users and Social Interactions on Network in Shanghai

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this paper, we reviewed the changes of Shanghai Internet environment to ascertain the substantial influence of the regional characteristics of Shanghai. To evaluate those influences we examined the dissemination and popularization of the Internet nationwide since 1990s up to date which indicated Shanghai was leading especially in the rate of propagation, in the number of users and internet sites. we also tried to demonstrate that virtual space was exposed to the transformation in social reality by analyzing the spatial distribution, social strata, pattern of usage of internet users in Shanghai areas. It was generally confirmed that internet mainly used on entertainment and commercial purposes, though Shanghai internet users were able to use internet in various areas. With the urbanization continued in Shanghai, the geographical and cultural changes underway were often the debate topic on the internet and this means the change of behavioral pattern of Shanghai citizen. Considering the lack of explicit endeavor to settle the debates, it seems that the problem of Shanghai society couldn’t find the appropriate solution regardless of on-off line. From the study of city transformation link with internet environment in Shanghai, it emerged that the disputes in virtual space reflected the social changes and contradictions and provided a clue to analyze the network of real society.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 상하이 인터넷 사용상황의 변화와 특징을 분석해서 상하이의 지역적 특성이 인터넷 상에 드러나고 있음을 분석한 것이다. 이를 위해 1990년대 이래 현재까지 인터넷의 중국에서의 확산과 보급의 추이와 상하이에서의 추이를 드러내어 보급률과 네티즌 및 인터넷 사이트의 수에서 전국적으로 우위에 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 인터넷 사용자의 상하이 지역 내 분포, 사용자 계층의 특징, 사용자들의 주요사용 실태 등을 분석해서 현실에서의 사회변화가 가상공간에도 드러나 있음을 보여주고자 했다. 이를 통해 상하이 네티즌들은 인터넷을 다양하게 활용하고 있지만 주로 오락과 상업적 목적으로 활용하는 경향이 강한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 동시에 상하이시에서 도시화가 진행되면서 나타난 지리적, 문화적 변화가 논쟁의 방식으로 인터넷 활용과정에서 나타났는데 이는 상하이인의 행동패턴의 변화를 의미하는 것이라 하겠다. 또한 이러한 논쟁을 해결하는 방식이 현실의 공간에서 직접 드러나지 못한다는 면에서 상하이 사회의 문제가 온라인상과 오프 라인상에서 적절한 해결책을 찾지 못하는 것으로 볼 수 있을 것이다. 상하이도시의 변화와 인터넷의 실태를 연결해서 고찰한 결과 가상의 공간에서의 논의에는 현실사회의 변화와 특성이 반영되어 있으며 현실사회의 네트워크를 분석할 수 있는 단초를 제공하고 있음이 드러났다고 볼 수 있다.
