The new environment of the college usually brings many Problems to College Freshmen. If we deeply look into their moralities, their college lives become very different from the days of high school, where they live only passively, burdened with the only great target, that is, the college entrance examination. From the beginning of their college life, they need to make self-controlled decision and behavior and they must establish their own good morality.
More important than the above is to accomplish their concrete objects, deligently studing their majors and newly making personal relationships. To do that, they may experience several psycological and social sufferings, because they don't have self-identity yet.
So, the school itself needs to help them perform their studies and adjust themselves to their College life, and become psycologically and socially mature experts.
For this purpose our college's Student Life Research Institute annually surveys the personal, psycological, and social characteristic and values of every years freshmen.
The surveyed object of this study is 1096, 94.5%, of 1994's 1160 freshmen (daytime students : 858, 97.5%, of 880, night : 238, 85%, of 280) This is performed in each department on the first week of June, three months after their entrance.
In the results of this survey, it is almost the same as last years except a few clauses. It is expected that our college's authorities and every department's professors will take this study and essential datas and basic materials for guiding students about their college lives.
