Korea is rich in natural resources such as mountains, rivers, sea and islands. Among these natural tourism resources, the island is surrounded by waterfront. Thus, island traffic cannot be compared to other tourism resources, and it also has an unique view. The Korean peninsula is consisted of marine islands(Ulleungdo, Dokdo, Jejudo, Ganghwa do and etc), inland lakes and rivers. Among these, the inland island requires a long drive, but if the island is boat-shaped it is more accessible and a suitable place to hold events or performances. If the visitors stay in the island longer, the travel time to the destination will take up less of the entire journey. Thus for these reasons, the local authorities of inland islands developed a performance program that could make the best out of island festivals. The festivals and performances are given at the same time where there is a great view. These activities make tourists stay longer and increase the length of their stay, which gives a positive effect not only within the island but also on the local economy. It actually seems that the recent increase in the length of stay of inland island was due to the Gapyeong Jara island International Jazz festival in Gyeonggi. Through much research, the residence time of visitors proved to be related with the economic effect of festivals. However, there are only a few studies related to the length of stay and inland island festivals and performances. By examining the ``Gyeonggi Gapyeong Jara island International Jazz festival’, this study provides an important analysis on factors related to performance festivals that increase the length of stay.
