문화원형 사례 연구와 지역 활성화 방안- 의성 ‘ 가마싸움놀이’ 를 중심으로 - = Uiseong City and Propositions for Its Rootage

This study aims to analyse ‘the battle game for palanquin’ cultural archetype of Uiseong city and propose some solutions for a better rootage of this traditionnel group exercice as a substitution of the autumn sports meeting in the elementary and middle schools. Although each locality attempts the development of cultural contents it does not always able to realize his dream because the project did not really take into account the support of majority people. This support is rooted in popular sentiment, for example, sometimes religious tradition. A decade years ago, the children of Seoul French School are disguised with grotesquely carved pumpkins during the Halloween party like the United States. Today, during the eve of All Saints all the streets outside the school remain calm. Marketing of the pagan festival has failed to settle in the French society where Catholic tradition still weighs too much on each individual. It also requires that this archetype fits the modern context and that he accepts his renaissance. Ship Jousting Party in Sète has become one of the most famous of France. Yet the games have not started in this city originated in the 17th century. There is a long history of the city’s efforts which has tried to adapt this game to the taste of tourists. However, what is the most important thing for the success of the festival is that the people and the participants are mainly conscious of the reasons why they participate. For the ‘Battle game for palanquin’ of Uiseong cityevery one must find the answer of this fundamental question: Why the party was missing and can not recover ? In addition, the theme or the operation must be more universal, more multicultural than the time of the origin of this cultural archetype, especially since we are living in a glocal age.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지방자치단체마다 새로운 성장 동력으로서 지역의 문화원형을 활용한 콘텐츠 개발이 활발하다. 그러나 콘텐츠가 성공하기 위해서는 원형에 근거를 둔 콘텐츠가 대중적 지지를 얻는 것이 필수요소다. 10여년 전까지 서울 몽마르트 거리에서 유행하던 핼러윈 축제는 자취를 감췄다. 또한 문화원형을 찾는 것만큼 중요한 것이 거듭나기다. 오늘날의 시각과 가치관에도 잘 어울리는 문화원형 거듭나기가 문화원형보다 더 중요할 때가 많다. 프랑스 지중해의 항구 도시 세트(Sète) 의 수상 장창시합이 그 예이다. 그러나 가장 중요한 것은 잔치에 참여하는 당사자의 마음 자세다. 특히 의성의 가마놀이는 그 원형이 ‘ 어떻게 해서 사라졌고 왜 복원해야 하는가?’ 라는 원론적인 문제에 대한 해답을 참여자 스스로 찾았을 때 진정한 축제로 거듭날 수 있다. 여기에 다문화 가정이 기초 교육기관의 근간을 이루고 있는 의성 지역의 특수성을 감안하여 범세계적, 범문화적 잔치로 승화시키도록 지혜를 모을 때다.
