다문화가족 부모스트레스 척도 개발 및 타당도 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이주는 일상생활 스트레스와 달리 과도한 스트레스를 야기하는 사건이다. 특히, 이주자 부모는 이주자로서 문화적, 언어적 맥락이 다른 새로운 환경에 적응하는 과정에서 스트레스를 경험함과 동시에 부모로서 자녀를 양육하는 과정에서 스트레스를 경험한다. 본 연구의 목적은 한국 사회에서 자녀를 양육하고 있는 이주자 부모가 경험하는 스트레스를 객관적이고 포괄적으로 측정할 수 있는 도구를 개발하는 것이다.
혼합방법론을 사용하여 1단계에서는 이주자 부모가 경험하는 부모스트레스를 인터뷰를 통해 깊이 있게 탐색하였다. 그리고 이러한 인터뷰 결과와 기존에 미국 거주 이주자 부모를 위해 개발된 척도(Immigrant Parental Stress Inventory: IPSI)에 기반을 두어 예비문항을 구성하였다. 그리고 척도의 신뢰도와 타당도를 평가하기 위해 203명의 한국 거주 이주자 부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 통계 분석 결과 이주자 부모스트레스 척도(IPSI)는 양호한 수준의 신뢰도와 타당도를 가지고 있는 것으로 평가되어 한국에 거주하는 이주자 부모의 스트레스를 측정하는데 유용한 도구임이 검증되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Unlike daily hassles or minor stressors, immigration is an intense life event that may cause excessive stress. In particular, immigrant parents find themselves in a more stressful situation in that they experience stresses caused by immigration and stresses caused by parenting at the same time. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Immigrant Parental Stress Inventory(IPSI), which objectively and comprehensively assess stress experienced by immigrant parents within the Korean contexts.
The IPSI was developed based on the mixed method. In the first phase, experiences as immigrant parents were explored through in-depth interview. Preliminary items were initially developed based on the qualitative study and Immigrant Parental Stress Inventory(IPSI) developed within the American contexts, refined through expert interviews, and empirically validated with a sample of 203 immigrant parents residing in Korea.
Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, six main factors were identified. The IPSI was shown to be a psychometrically sound instrument that is capable of measuring immigrant parental stress within the Korean contexts.
